Words
"My words don't connect and make sentences or thoughts. Maybe it's the weather. The rain. The rain always leads to trouble." -Zoe Trope
Today is full of words. Both those said and those unsaid. Those written into school papers, heard on tv, rolling around the inside of my head, and that escape from any mouth. Words have so much power, but so little meaning. Trying to understand what someone else says is like trying to translate thoughts into a foreign language, with a foreign alphabet and all. There are too many words to choose from and yet not enough to say what is really meant. Words are ambiguous at best. Lives may end, but words live on forever. What is left unsaid may be just as important as what is shouted from the rooftops. Words: can't live with them and can't live without them. Is it possible to join a community of deaf-mutes?

1 Comments:
Perhaps a monastery or nunnery with a vow of silence. But then of course sometimes actions do speak louder than words, so it still might not be safe.
